What are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers are thin, medical-grade shields that we place over teeth. We make veneers from advanced ceramics and porcelain to fix misalignment, crooked teeth, and discoloration. With proper care, veneers last between 15-20 years. Once they become cracked or have reached their lifespan, they are easily replaceable.

What are the Steps to Install Dental Veneers?

In most cases, veneer treatment takes 2-3 trips. These trips give us time to analyze your teeth, create the veneers, and place them at maximum effectiveness:

  1. Evaluation. Once you pursue veneers, you’ll meet with Dr. Ali Mualla or Dr. Nabi. We’ll discuss the pros and cons of veneers, what you can expect, the treatment, and the process.
  2. Tooth preparation. Our dentists will remove approximately ½ millimeters of enamel from the teeth. Removing this layer will maximize the veneer’s lifespan and strength and make it look flush with other teeth.
  3. Veneer molding. We’ll analyze, blueprint, and mold your teeth. We’ll send the molds to a special lab to create your permanent veneers within 4-7 days.
  4. Temporary veneers. While we wait for the permanent veneers, we’ll give you a short-term pair of acrylic veneers.
  5. Fitting. Once we have your permanent veneers, we’ll remove your temporary pair. We place the permanent veneers lightly over your teeth to check the fit and make any final adjustments. If the veneers fit, we’ll start the final process.
  6. Cleaning and disinfection. We’ll clean your teeth to remove all harmful bacteria. Doing this will prevent cavities from growing after we place the veneers.
  7. Installation. We use a special bonding agent to connect the veneer to your tooth. A special ultraviolet light will quicken the process and ensure a tight fit.
  8. Complete. All done! The veneers are secured, and you can continue with your daily life. Feel free to resume normal activities.

Benefits of Veneers:

While veneers may appear purely cosmetic, they offer a wide range of additional benefits:

  • They look natural. We craft all our medical-grade veneers that look identical to your other teeth. Made from advanced ceramics and porcelains, they blend perfectly into their environment. Nobody will know you’re wearing veneers because they look and feel natural.
  • Veneers are durable. Dental veneers are long-lasting, stain-resistant, and maintain their white shine. Because we remove a thin layer of enamel with each tooth, veneer treatment is a permanent solution.
  • Whiten your teeth. While teeth whitening procedures work, they are temporary and need to be reapplied after time. Veneers, however, aren’t prone to fading. We can color veneers any way we’d like, resulting in a sparkling smile. Our veneers are stain-resistant and will stay bright for years.
  • Orthodontic solutions. Veneers can fix overbites, underbites, gaps, chips, crooked teeth, tooth sensitivity, discoloration, and more. While veneers can’t severe issues, they offer a powerful solution for various dental problems.
  • Veneers are safe. Veneer treatment is a minimally invasive cosmetic and restorative procedure. While we remove a skinny layer of tooth enamel, anesthesia is rarely required. As a result, veneers are safe, effective, and comfortable.
  • Low maintenance. Once we install your veneers, your life continues as before. As veneers require no special treatment, you can eat anything. Your veneers will be fine if you maintain healthy oral habits.
